Who are we.

As a critical multi-disciplinary design studio of artists, architects, craftspeople, problem solvers and designers, Drummond Projects brings a poetic mixture of richness in culture, artistic acuity, civic-mindedness, and resourceful vigor to offer a wide range of services in the cultural, commercialhousing, and public-art space. Our team of key personnel is licensed and have a combined 85 years of working experience primarily in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

What we do.

We approach design as a social practice. Integrating methods from architecture, art, cultural heritage, and community engagement, the practice explores how the built environment both shapes and responds to complex social conditions.

How we do it.

Our studio is curious by nature, rigorously studying through an iterative design approach that invently embraces practical constraints to discover often unexpected design opportunities that energize and inspire works with a strong sense of place. The studio frequently collaborates with various community groups, artists, and architectural and engineering firms to produce projects that activate the public realm and designs responsive to context, program, budget, catalyzing rich experience.
