Our Team



Studio founder, Jimmie Drummond is an architectural practitioner, educator and lighting artist. His career represents the essence of what it means to build a legacy of professional excellence. Jimmie holds a Bachelor’s of Fine Art in Interior Design from Howard University and a Dual-Masters Degree in Architecture + Lighting Design from Parsons School of Design. Jimmie is the first African-American to graduate with both Masters degrees in Architecture and Lighting design.

His professional experience includes workingas an architect at SHoP Architects, Bernheimer Architecture, and as a lighting designer for FLUX Studio in New York City. He is an Adjunct Professor at New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) where he teaches under-graduate Real-Estate Development, Structural Technology, and Construction Management.

His passion for design is rooted in socially-driven opportunities that make positive changeat scale. Jimmie’s portfolio of work includes multi-housing development, commercial hospitality, mixed-use developement, and office workspace design. His studio is currently based in Washington, DC.


Project Director

Michelle Fowler joined Drummond Projects in 2021 and brings with her a wide ranging background that covers design at all scales from urban planning to architecture, interiors and objects.  She specializes in engaging technology in the design process and delivering innovative projects that are forward thinking and sensitive to the needs of its users.

Michelle graduated from the School of Visual Arts with a BFA for Interior Design and holds a Master of Architecture from Pratt Institute.  For over 8 years, Michelle was an architect at SHoP Architects where she honed her design and technology acumen on projects throughout the US.  Her previous work includes Midtown Center in Washington DC, the Hudson’s Site in Detroit MI and the American Copper Building in Manhattan.


Design Director

Chris Sledge  joined Drummond Projects in 2020 as the firms Creative Director. His multi-disciplinary approach has allowed him the opportunity to collaborate with world renowned architects, interior designers, and industrial designers.

His professional experience includes 12 years working with Italian furniture manufacturers to increase their market share in the US through business development, activations, and education.

While grounded in fine art and luxury interiors, his career has been purposefully diverse. He has always sought work that would add to his repertoire ever-evolving industry.


Architectural Designer

Nia is an Architectural Designer from Washington D.C. with a passion for Community Development, Revitalization, Sustainable Design and philanthropy. Nia attended Hampton University and the University of Illinois- Urbana Champaign for her undergraduate studies in architecture.  

Nia then went to serve as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Morocco for 2 years, focusing on Youth & Community Development.  Upon returning she worked at 2 small firms in Chicago over the span of 2 years and founded a non-profit organization, Global United Diaspora (GUD).In 2018 she returned to DC to complete dual graduate programs, Masters of Architecture and Masters of Business. Nia joined the Drummond Projects Team in 2020 and is committed to producing  transformative design leading to empowering community oriented development in her hometown.


Senior Designer

Lolade Frankel joined Drummond Projects as a Senior Designer in 2021. She is driven by a passion for design equity; making space for and elevating voices in architecture that are oft underrepresented and overlooked. Lolade strives to create architecture that is rooted in place, community, and joy, with a keen eye toward approachability. Lolade graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor’s and Master of Architecture. Her professional experience includes working in Los Angeles for three years on all phases of projects ranging from retail to educational work. Most recently, she spent two years working on housing projects in her hometown of Philadelphia.

Omari Watson

Architectural Designer

Omari Watson joined Drummond Projects in 2021 as an Architectural Designer after graduating from the University of Maryland College Park with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture. He strives to impact communities by designing flexible and interactive spaces while engaging the needs of the users’ experience.
His professional experience includes master planning and most recently multi-family housing development. Omari will begin his graduate studies at the University of Maryland College Park in Fall of 2022 to pursue his Master of Architecture.

Ashleigh Bradshaw

Project Director

Ashleigh Bradshaw joined Drummond Projects in 2021 with an extensive background in commercial design. As a designer her goal is to create interiors that complement existing neighborhoods & spaces. Ashleigh received her Bachelors in Interior Design from Drexel University. She started her career in multifamily working on projects ranging from luxury residential units to affordable dwellings. Her biggest reward was seeing a completed space and knowing it would be home to a variety of people from different walks of life. She eventually transitioned into commercial interiors with a focus on non-profits. She brings an understanding of workplace design and strategy. Her goal is to create an experience by telling the client’s story through the design.

Lawan A. F. Alade-Fa

Architectural Designer

Lawan A. F. Alade-Fa is a graduate from Northwestern University with a Bachelors of Science in Civil-Architectural Engineering. Lawan approaches design with a human-centered mindset by prioritizing the experiences with thoughtfulness and practicality.

Prior to joining Drummond Projects, Lawan worked as a Design Intern at Perkins+Will Chicago.
Lawan’s creative and technical literacy extends beyond architectural design to include studio photography, videography/VFX, virtual space/product design, sound design and UI/UX design.

When not designing, Lawan trains professionally for long jump competitions, and produces Lo-Fi Beats.
