HISTORIC DISTRICT - LEDROIT PARK
Location: Washington, DC
The stately brick exterior sets the stage for this mid-century modern touch. Inside feels like outside with an abundance of natural light and high ceilings that make the interior shine. The brightly lit kitchen with a lot of counter space and storage allowed for us to introduce a mid-century modern touch with the open shelving. In the back, the patio is ideal for warm summer evenings and weekend BBQs. Central to most of our projects is the value we bring with an optimized design.
We were able to build out an additional full bathroom to the master suite without compromising its size. This carefully detailed approach resulted in a highly satisfied client. most critical component is to make sure the A central core integrates all the facilities of the house, being the toilet the only element that can be isolated. The rest of the materials, uses and rooms merge and contaminate each other, so that the tenants sleep in the bathroom as well as shower in the living room. A piece of white tiling symbolically marks the wet uses that are present throughout the house, completely coating the central piece and the floors near it. Looking for a careful approach and reusing existing materials, the intervention improved the quality of the internal space and the comfort and energy efficiency of the apartment.
