Location: New York, New York
The architectural and interior transformation of this humble 1 bedroom apartment built in the fifties into one of the Upper East Side’s nicest white-brick apartment houses was all about the detail. The locale of this 21-story building has a unique characteristic being in the midst of one of the avenue’s more open areas. It was only necessary to design a truly experimental dwelling.
The key element within this design are the multi-functional partitions that cradle the experience and function of the space.
The proposed transformation exudes elegance, comfort, and dynamism. Between each space, it was important to dissolve the feeling of “white plastered walls” and introduce lighting that helps define the space.
