Hill East is a proposal to the District of Columbia Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development for a mixed-use residential development with over 850 residential units and nearly 200,000 sf of commercial space dedicated towards retail, office, and community engagement. The project also provides significant indoor and outdoor amenities for building residents—including active-landscaped zones on multiple levels, adhering to the tenets of active design guidelines to promote a healthy lifestyle. A productive landscape is designed and maintained collaboratively with urban agriculturalists; gardening opportunities for the building’s residents foster healthy eating and sustainable farming.
